Many thanks for the help DVK, got it working and will use this in the mean time! If only you could set cache settings through the browsers GUI leaving out things like this.
yes that would probably do it, disable the VLC plugin on the plugins page in Opera unless someone knows how to make any certain plugin as default for any file types.
I leave it enabled (which it is by default). My attitude is, https suggests the site is safe anyway, so I'd rather see the content on that page and I'll take my chance.
Opera Next 21 has an issue with the history file (I haven't read further on it) which ranges in severity from periodic freezes (in my case ... reminded me of some old style garbage collection) to a complete lockup. Workaround is to delete the history file (using your Windows Explorer, if Opera locks up) ... though as it wasn't too severe on my machine I left it alone so that I can verify if they ever fix it.
You don't add the Advanced at all. If you are going through the Shortcuts dialog, [Address dropdown widget] is automatically classified under Advanced. If you are editing the file by hand for some reason, do not include the Advanced part at all.
Opera needs to get their act together, those mouse gestures from previous versions were very useful, I thought! Hopefully, they will bring some of them back!
